Question: What if my children too young ...or too old?

Not a problem! Ponyshare can bring along any size pony(ies) or horses, even Minicarts, thus ensuring the satisfaction of all participants from 1 to 100 years old!

Question: Is PonyShare insured?

Naturally, with over 30 equines and several crews servicing multiple locations, we have to! But Ponyshare's ponies are very safe and tolerant. Our attendants are not only courteous, but also experienced and well versed in safety matters. We thought you'd like to know!

Question: Do they affect my grounds? What about clean-up?

Ponies, being smaller and lighter than their equine counterparts, will not affect your grounds. Yes, of course, we do clean after our ponies...but you'd be surprised to know that most of the time, there is nothing to clean: After all, they are Ponyshare Party Perfect Polite Ponies!

Question: What if some of the kids are afraid of the pony?

We always do our best to introduce the children to their new friends and make them at ease before trying an actual ride. But if you know that there will be a few toddlers and younger kids in the party, why not choose the ½ & ½ Package : Half pony rides and half cart rides aboard a lovely Amish-crafted Meadowbrook Cart pulled by an adorable Miniature Horse. The cart will seat 3 to 4 little kids (great for these long lines!), a mother and her -apprehensive?- toddler, or even take your son or daughter "Victorian Style" to that First Communion!. We alternate between pony & cart rides and call this the "Half and Half Package."

Question: What if I have a large number of kids?

Are you expecting a crowd? Why not ask us about multiple size ponies, cobs or horses for the "big kids" in the Family Gathering! How about Cart or Hay Rides? Or our Equine Petting Zoo consisting of a pony for Pony Rides, a Mini for Cart Rides and a small Donkey or miniature mule to keep the kids company as they learn about their grooming and peculiarities while waiting for their turn to ride?

Question: What about a 'Theme Party'?

Cowboys and Indians seem a natural, and we have cute little 'Western Wanted $1,000,000' frames -or many other theme related frames- in which you can insert Polaroid « action » pictures of the children. We can also bring along genuine leather Western attires for a more « authentic » look: We will gladly lend these free to you as well as Polaroid cameras, if you so desire.

Question: What else can you provide?

Larger ponies and horses for teenagers and adults, miniature horses or donkeys pulling small 2-wheel carts, a kids size hay wagon pulled by a medium pony and sitting 12.

Indian Wedding

Question: What about your experience with Indian Wedding?

We are considered the leaders in this field. Our horses and Attendants perform hundreds of Baraats each year and we have done this since 1996! We are members of professional South Asian wedding-related organizations and benefit from a great reputation among major South Asian wedding professionals.

Question: How big are the horses?

We have different size horses, from medium to very large, that can accommodate not so tall to very tall grooms. This is why we ask you this information on the Info Request Form.

Question: When should I ask you to arrive at the venue? Do you charge for overtime?

Our horses are groomed prior to leaving the Farm. Therefore, it takes us very little time to get ready: 15 minutes for just the horse, 1/2hr for the horse and carriage. Please take this into consideration when giving us a time for the Baraat. We will stay for as long as the Baraat and/or Vidh'ai takes and there is no extra charge for overtime. Having said that, however, we have had situations in the past when we had to wait one, even two hours past the specified starting time of the Baraat. That is not acceptable and we would have to charge for such . So please, to let us know a few days before if there are any changes to the Baraat time.

Question: What kind of decorations do you provide?

Our decorations are the best in the industry and we replenish them regularly. The horses are ornamented with fancy saddle pads, neck and rump pieces, headgear, anklets and tail covers. We always keep several sets on hand and, whenever possible, let you choose the kind and color you want.

Question: Are the horses calm?

Very! Our horses are semi-retired camp horses who have worked with children and crowds for most of their lives. Before we start using them at Indian Weddings, we bring them along to acclimate them to the noise, the music and all the dancing and singing generated by the Baraatis. When we bring a horse to your wedding, you can rest assured that this horse will have been thoroughly trained and accustomed to perform in a very safe and pleasant manner. In fact some of them are so well trained that they follow the procession/DJ or Dhol man automatically without being prompted to do so by their handler!

Question: Can a child sit with the groom on the horse?

Absolutely! We realize that this is an important custom and as long as it is safe for everyone involved, we will allow it. But bear in mind that if you have lots of family, grown up sisters, etc…a better option would be to use the carriage for the Baraat.

Question: Do you provide an umbrella as well?

Yes, we have a number of umbrellas available and there is no extra charge as long as you designate a couple of friends to carry it. If we have to provide an additional worker, there will be a charge.

Question: What about the carriage?

We have a lovely carriage used strictly for Indian Weddings. It is white with a depiction of a Ghori and Dholi on the front panel and tastefully hand-painted garlands on its sides and fenders. We asked Archana Kamani, from SHILP, a creative Artist from India to come to our farm and decorate it. The seats are upholstered in dark red velvet, and the carriage can fit about 6 people including the driver. We can use the carriage for the Baraat or the Vidh'ai or both.

Question: How about payment? When is it expected?

Unlike our competition, we do not require advance payment, but just a small deposit to reserve the date. Because you will be extremely busy after the Baraat and we do not want to disturb you, we ask that you designate someone to give us the balance either before or immediately after the groom has dismounted.

Question: Do the handlers wear Indian Outfits?

Absolutely! We want to blend in. We feel that it is not only more respectful to you and your guests, but also that it looks better and less conspicuous in your pictures when our Attendants wear Indian garbs.

Question: Can you recommend other Wedding Professionals?

Absolutely! We work alongside many of the major professionals in the industry: Mandap Providers, Wedding Planners, Video-Photographers, DJ’s, Caterers, Dhol men, etc… As a courtesy to our customers, we are happy to provide you with a list of some among the best people we have met at the functions we attended. We receive no compensation for listing these Professionals so that you can be assured that we are recommending them for the quality of their work as we have personally witnessed it.
