Seaton Hackney Reopens!

Seaton Hackney Stables, the newly renovated century old equestrian facility that once housed the famous Hackney Racing Stable has now reopened. A facility of the Morris County Park Commission, Seaton Hackney Stable (SHS) is once again ready to carry on its rich heritage and provide Morris County residents with an opportunity to become involved with horses and equestrian sports. Equishare USA LLC, a Tewksbury based, multi-state equestrian educational venture, will operate the renovated stables offering a broad equestrian program aimed at engaging participants on different levels, from birthday parties and casual trail rides to riding lessons, boarding, Combined Training, Equisharing and even harness driving lessons.
Seaton Hackney Stables offers an expansive list of activities for all ages. Riding lessons will be offered with instruction in Hunt Seat Equitation, Balance seat, Combined Training, Show Jumping & Dressage (Western discipline lessons will be added in the future). Cart driving lessons and sidesaddle clinics will round out the lesson program. Equishare "the sensible alternative to horse ownership" a modified discounted lease program as well as private horse boarding will be available for more motivated and committed riders. Guided trail rides will give casual riders an opportunity to relax and explore the natural beauty of the many miles of bridle paths of adjacent Loanataka Park
SHS will be especially geared toward children providing them with opportunities to be physically active, gain confidence and learn new skills, teamwork and responsibility, programs will include: Mounted Troop Program, Drill Team, After-Care and Summer Camp programs as well as recreational and therapeutic riding for people with special needs. Birthday parties complete with pony rides, games, crafts, pizza & drinks will offer a unique opportunity for children to celebrate their special day with equine & human friends in a rustic setting.
The beautifully restored Seaton Hackney complex is situated on a 30 acre fenced property boasting an indoor barn and outdoor barn, with 50 stalls of various sizes, some as large as 12' X14', all ventilated, matted with individual fire alarms, fluorescent lighting and outside electrical outlets. Other amenities include a large shower stall, air-conditioned indoor restrooms/locker, a party/general assembly room, two large fenced riding rings, a driving and galloping mile long track complete with Announcer's Tower and Meeting/Scoring Room for Shows, Parties and Special Events, as well as plenty of turn-out paddocks. Equishare USA, LLC., the new Operators of Seton Hackney Stables has announced that they will soon add a dressage ring, a hunter course, and a cross-country course as well!
SHS will kick off its first Fall Season on Sunday, September 10, from 10:00am. to 3:00 pm. with a fun filled Open House! Visitors can register for the Fall Troop Riding Semester with free riding evaluations, enjoy refreshments, tour the facility, meet the staff and enjoy free trail and pony rides!
